New Plant-Based Fining Agent Could Replace Animal Products in Beer

Food tech company Chinova Bioworks is creating a fining agent out of mushrooms to help make beer more vegan-friendly. Traditionally, beer is made with ingredients that are entirely vegan-friendly. However, many breweries use animal-based fining agents, such as pig stomach enzymes or fish bladders, to filter the beer.
